My LUSH Facial cleansers

I absolutely hate when a company or a brand discontinues something that I LOVE. Its especially frustrating if that product-you-cant-live-without-that-seems-to-have-disappeared was the only thing that actually worked really really well for you. That is what happened to my Clean and Clear Continuous Clean Cleanser. One day I went to go get myself a tube and its been GONE ever since. Well, actually it didn't completely disappear. Clean and Clear kind of brought it back, only they brought it back in a foam.. and it sucks..so its soo not the same.

Anyways, my last trip to LUSH just so happen to coincide with the culmination of my frustrations with the foam cleanser, so I decided to give a LUSH facial cleanser a try. I picked up Herbalism b/c my biffle Tiffany uses it and she raves about it.

Pricey eh?

Reminds me of Play-Doh...OH and smells like it too : /

It has a gritty clay consistency, which is great for exfoliation, and its supposed to be good for oily and problem skin. Problem was (ha get it?) is that I broke out with 3 painful pimples within a week of using it. They weren't very visible or red, just those really painful ones that you get underneath your skin. Not cool.

I'm definitely going to finish up the tub but wont be re-purchasing this one. ::Sigh::: I miss my Clean and Clear!

Next is Cupcake, a fresh face mask that absorbs excess oils from your face and soothes redness. These masks are unique in that they only last 3 weeks b/c they are made with fresh materials. This yummy mask is made with cocoa powder, sandalwood oil, rhassoul mud and spearmint oil and must remain chilled. It feels SOO good after a hot shower and my face smells like chocolate the rest of the night! I highly recommend this mask, it really takes out the redness in my skin and makes your face super soft and clean. LOVE!

DIY: Ribbon Wands

So I've only been engaged about 3 weeks but already I want to get started on all the DIY projects I plan on doing (there is quite a list forming!). Before I was engaged I imagined sparklers for my "wedding exit", but the cost of those PLUS matches PLUS where to put the used sparklers squashed the idea. Then I saw a post on another blog about ribbon wands. They make quite the cute and whimsical exit (like so...)

It seems perfect for the outdoor ceremony I want to have. Sooo what did I do? I signed up for Jo-Ann Fabrics and Michaels coupons, went shopping, and got started!

What you'll need:
-Wooden dowels about 3/8" x 12"
-Sandpaper
-Ribbons in your wedding colors
-Paint and paintbrush
-hot glue gun/glue

First, I sanded and painted the wooden dowels (I used a pearly white paint purchased at Wal-Mart for $0.97 ). While your dowels are drying, cut 2 colors of your ribbon into 18 inch long pieces. Cut the other 2 into about 12-15 in long pieces. Cutting your ribbon different lengths will give the wands more visual appeal and texture.

(Yep, I used black lace as a "ribbon" hehe. I plan on cutting it half lengthwise and alternating it with the light pink to use with the navy and hot pink.)

Once you have your ribbon cut and your dowels dry, grab your hot glue gun (and some newspaper so you dont make a mess!) and apply glue to one end of the ribbon and roll the ribbon around one end of your dowel. Next, take your next color ribbon and roll it around the first piece of already glued ribbon, going the opposite direction.

See how the lighter pink ribbon starts on the underside of the hot pink and rolls the opposite way? You can see it behind the hot pink ribbon against the newspaper.

Do the same thing with your nexr piece of ribbon, so it lays parallel to the second piece of ribbon. Let dry and.........

TA-DA!!  You now have a cute and creative way to exit your ceremony for CHEAP!! Four down, 96 to go!

New LUSH stuff!

"Hello my name is Chilly and I'm a LUSH addict."

I got some new LUSH stuff recently and couldnt wait to share!

Rockstar Soap...I think this is their #1 selling soap..to me it smells a lot like Mr.Bubbles bubble bath (ya know, the pink stuff from when you were a kid?) even though the Web site claims it smells like bubblegum (eww no..it doesnt). It lathers VERY well and..its pink!!!

Next up is Mange Too, a massage bar that smells like white chocolate and honey...delishhhhh!!!!

Annnd last but not least is my Sweet Lips lip scrub. Works really well, but honestly, its just sugar, jojoba oil and cocoa powder in a jar that I paid $9 for, soo probably I can make my own at home. Tastes like (suprise, suprise) chocolate and sugar :)

On my next trip to LUSH I will be purchasing some Chox Away soap (chocolate/vanilla scented mmmm) to go with my Mange Too massage bar :)

He finally put a ring on it :)

Yep, I'm engaged! After 5 years of dating I get the pleasure of marrying my best friend :)

THE STORY
Ryan was very low-key about the proposal, which I would prefer anyways. We went out to lunch and did a little shopping (well, I did a lil shopping lol). After we got back to the house he said he was way ahead of his bills so he wanted to go out somewhere nice to eat. I figured maybe this was it and he was going to propose at dinner, but NOPE! He caught me off guard and proposed to me in the middle of our bedroom after complaining that we had nothing to celebrate at dinner. He said he was so nervous that he couldnt speak after he said my name. After my happy freakout he said "So do I get an answer?" and I reminded him that he actually hadn't asked me anything yet lol..so then he said "Will you marry me?" YES YES YES!!  <3 JUNE 23, 2010 <3 BEST.DAY.EVER!

China Glaze!!!

So I bought a few new China Glaze nail polishes a while ago and never blogged about them (for shame!!). China Glaze is my favorite brand, I can go a few days without wearing clear top coat and it still doesnt chip! I got them on sale AND I had a coupon (sa-weet!) so I got 3 polishes for $4 at Sally Beauty Supply!!! Here they are...

Thataway- The perfect bright orange for summer!! My nails have just enough shimmer when I wear this :)

Avalanche- Not too much of a fan of this one. I bought it thinking it was going to be more of a dark gray then a silverish lavender..but still it looks nice as an overlay color.

Turned up Turquoise- EXTREMELY bright/neon, however it leans more on the green side than the blue on my nails..it looks more turquoise in the bottle to me lol. I think it really depends on the lighting. Oh well, its still gorgeous!
